Swiftwater/Flood Rescue Technician (SFRT) Course
(Formerly called SRT 1)
This Swiftwater/Flood Rescue technician SFRT (formerly called the SRT 1) course is open to SAR Volunteers who need SFRT (SRT 1) re-certification (every 3 years) and for SAR Volunteers who have completed the SFRO course (formerly known as SSO).
Who: For all SAR Groups in the South West Region
What: Swiftwater/Flood Rescue Technician (SFRT, formerly SRT 1)
Where: Squamish
When: June 13 - 15, 2008
The course hours are:
􀂾 Friday 0830hrs – 1730hrs (please note that this starts in the morning)
􀂾 Saturday 0830hrs – 1730hrs
􀂾 Sunday 0830hrs – 1730hrs
Prerequisites: Participants must be a member of a SAR Group and have GSAR certification.
This course is open to members who need to recertify at the SFRT (SRT1) level and to new members who have successfully completed the SFRO (SSO) course.
Costs: The course fees are paid by the JIBC. Students are responsible for their own travel, meal, accommodation, and equipment rental costs.
Note: The BC SAR Association will cover 65% of student mileage (carpooling required).
Equipment: Dry suits are available for rent. Complete equipment list will accompany student mail-out.
Registration: Please submit applications promptly. The Training Officer or President of the sponsoring SAR GROUP must sign applications.
